Flashing
Write the IRLEncoder image to an SD card or NVMe drive.
Pick your board and follow the matching guide. The flashing process is the same on every supported board.
Boards
- Radxa Rock 5B+ (recommended)
- Orange Pi 5 Plus
Other RK3588 boards (Rock 5A, Rock 5B, Banana Pi BPI-W3) are hardware-compatible with the platform but do not have an official image yet. See supported boards.

- BalenaEtcher on macOS, Windows, or Linux.
- Rufus on Windows.
ddon macOS or Linux for the command-line crowd.
What to expect
Writing the image takes a few minutes on a USB 3 SD card reader and a fast SD card. Verify takes the same again. If your reader is USB 2, plan for fifteen minutes.
